Biofuels are an important part of the energy transition strategies of countries around the world. With the certainty that fossil fuels will need to be abandoned in the near future due to the environmental (global warming, climate change, acid rain) and social (diseases caused by pollution) damages they cause, biodiesel presents itself as a renewable, sustainable alternative, which significantly contributes to the reduction of vehicular emissions and to the improvement of the health and quality of life of the population. Compared to diesel, for example (the most polluting fossil fuel after coal and the most consumed in Brazil), biodiesel emits up to 80% less CO2 and does not emit sulfur.

BIODIESEL DUAL

Our biodiesel plant is under construction in Pedra Preta, in accordance with the specifications of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels - ANP.

We invest in the best technologies and the finest professionals available, in pursuit of the excellence of our products. Our machines are capable of producing biodiesel from various raw materials. Operations will begin in the first half of 2024.

Glycerin

In this year 2024, together with biodiesel, we will begin to produce Glycerin, which is a by-product of biodiesel. Visually, it appears as a viscous, colorless, odorless and hygroscopic liquid, with a slightly sweet taste. Soluble in water and alcohol, and insoluble in ether and chloroform, it, in its pure form, has several industrial applications. For example, in the chemical industries, it can be used in the composition of cosmetics, detergents, resins, additives, paints, varnishes, detergents; in the pharmaceutical industries, it can be used in capsules, syrups, ointments; in the food industries, it serves as a preservative for drinks and food (soft drinks, candies, cakes, meat and food). Furthermore, in tobacco industries, it can be used to make tobacco fibers more resistant and prevent the leaves from drying out. Finally, glycerin can be used in the manufacture of packaging and to soften and increase the flexibility of textile fibers. In Brazil, currently, one of the most recent developments in the use of this product is in the production of propylene (a resin obtained, so far, from petroleum derivatives), for the manufacture of polypropylene, which has several applications.
